Project 2.5 (2020)

Advancement of sustainable airport pavement construction and rehabilitation and design addressing challenges faced by Australia
Background

Airport previously expected to resurface runways every 12-15 years. This has reduced to around 9-11 years.Because runway resurfacing is expensive and disruptive, airports are likely to invest in greater surfacing cost if there is a whole of life return expected.
